Kara (Scheerhorn) Schirmer
I am an environmentalist, outdoor enthusiast and food lover from the Midwest. I was born in New York, raised in Michigan, studied in Denmark, and have found my home in Ohio. Being the middle child between an older sister and younger brother has given me a competitive spirit and an empathetic heart.
The main focus of my blog posts are on environmental issues, sustainability, water, healthy living, travel, the great outdoors, and local issues.
I believe that writing is a catalyst for change. In my life there are many elements that have shaped and influenced me, and consequentially my writing. One of those elements would be my landscape and within that, Lake Michigan. I care for the environment because it’s part of who I am.
